About Gafi
The works we do here
Accelerating the delivery of food security and nutrition
The Global Alliance for Food Innovation (GAFI) is a Swiss-registered, international nonprofit association that brings together public and private capital to accelerate the delivery of food security and nutrition solutions in the world’s most vulnerable communities.
Led by the Mary Dinah Foundation, and supported by global development institutions

GAFI is designed to scale high-impact, life-saving interventions—fast and at scale—through a blended capital model that delivers measurable, sustainable results.

To create a world where life-saving food and nutrition innovations are rapidly financed, scaled, and sustained—ending malnutrition and preventable hunger in vulnerable communities.

Our Mission & Objectives

Develop sustainable financing models that support long-term nutrition investment and build resilient health systems.
GAFI’s financial assets are managed by a leading international investment bank, ensuring robust oversight, transparent disbursements, and risk-managed performance.
Program direction is coordinated by the Mary Dinah Foundation, working closely with international agencies that serve as technical partners. These partners provide:
- Strategic guidance
- Implementation oversight
- Alignment with international best practices

Implementation Framework
GAFI delivers support through in-kind distribution of fortified foods and nutrition supplements, including:
- Multiple Micronutrient Tablets (MMS)
- High-dose Vitamin A
- Corn Soya Blend (CSB)
- Tombrown
Distributions are channelled through established technical partners and approved humanitarian organisations, ensuring effective last-mile delivery to women and children in target countries. Implementing NGOs are selected via a competitive RFP process to ensure strong operational capacity and community-level expertise.
All program activities are governed by a joint monitoring and reporting framework led by the Mary Dinah Foundation and GAFI’s technical partners, ensuring:
- Real-time performance tracking
- Transparency and accountability
- Continuous learning and program optimisation
Meet Our Committee Members
